Annie Oakley

Annie Oakley is an American Western television series that aired from 1954 to 1957, starring Gail Davis as the legendary sharpshooter Annie Oakley. The series was one of the first television Westerns to feature a woman as the lead character, and Davis, a skilled horsewoman and markswoman in real life, performed many of her own stunts. Set in the fictional town of Diablo, the series follows Annie as she uses her skills with a rifle and her frontier know-how to help her community. The show was aimed at a family audience and presented a positive role model for young viewers. Produced by Gene Autry's Flying A Productions, the series ran for 81 episodes and was widely syndicated.
