The Adventures of Robin Hood
The Adventures of Robin Hood is a British television series produced by Sapphire Films for Lew Grade's ITC, broadcast on ITV from 1955 to 1960 and airing in the United States on CBS. Richard Greene stars as the outlaw Robin Hood, leading his band of merry men in Sherwood Forest against the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham, played by Alan Wheatley. Filmed at Nettlefold Studios with location work around Runnymede, the series ran for 143 half-hour episodes and was notable for its repertory company of actors and scripts contributed by writers blacklisted in Hollywood. A large number of episodes, including the entire first season of 39, have fallen into the public domain.
