Steptoe and Son
Steptoe and Son is a British sitcom that aired from 1962 to 1965 (and again from 1970 to 1974) on BBC Television, created by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. The series stars Wilfrid Brambell as Albert Steptoe, a dirty old rag-and-bone man, and Harry H. Corbett as his frustrated son Harold, who dreams of escaping the family business and his father's manipulative grip. The series revolutionized British comedy with its blend of humor and pathos, depicting the grim reality of working-class life with an honesty that was groundbreaking for its time.
