Here Comes Tobor
A 1956 unaired television pilot directed by Duke Goldstone, intended as a spin-off of the 1954 film Tobor the Great. Tobor ("robot" spelled backwards) is a nine-foot-tall robot controlled telepathically by Tommy Adams, a boy genius with one of the highest ESP quotients ever recorded. In the pilot episode "Tobor and the Atomic Submarine," Professor Adams and Tobor help the U.S. Navy find a missing nuclear submarine. Tobor flies in a rocket, recovers the submarine, and fights a gang of pirates. The series was not picked up, and only the pilot was filmed. The credits famously read "Tobor played by Tobor."
