One Step Beyond
One Step Beyond (originally billed as Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond) is an American anthology series created by Merwin Gerard and broadcast on ABC from 1959 to 1961. Hosted and directed by John Newland, "your guide to the supernatural," each half-hour dramatizes a story ostensibly drawn from real reports of the paranormal — premonitions, ghosts, reincarnation, and unexplained coincidences. Unlike later twist-driven anthologies, the show plays its uncanny events straight, often closing with an invitation to decide for yourself what really happened. The first season's 22 episodes were never copyrighted and are in the public domain.
