Flash Gordon
Flash Gordon is an American science fiction television series that aired from 1954 to 1955, based on the classic comic strip by Alex Raymond. Steve Holland stars as Flash Gordon, the heroic space pilot who, along with journalist Dale Arden and scientist Dr. Zarkov, defends Earth from the tyrannical Emperor Ming of Mongo and other galactic threats. The series was produced by Motion Pictures for Television and ran for 39 syndicated half-hour episodes. Though low-budget, the show captured the spirit of the Raymond comic strip with its cliffhanger endings and retro-futuristic production design. Many episodes are in the public domain because their copyrights were never renewed.
