A 1967 American made-for-television horror science fiction film directed by Larry Buchanan for American International Pictures. A color remake of Roger Corman's 1956 film Day the World Ended, the title is borrowed from a short story by Jules Verne and his son Michael Verne, though the film bears no relation to that story. After a nuclear war wipes out most of Earth's population, a group of survivors holes up in a secluded valley protected from radiation by its geography. They must protect themselves from rising radiation levels, cannibalistic mutants with telepathic powers, and in some cases each other. The film entered the public domain because it was published without a copyright notice.
