Horror Hotel
A 1960 British supernatural horror film directed by John Llewellyn Moxey in his directorial debut, also known as The City of the Dead. College student Nan Barlow (Venetia Stevenson) travels to the sleepy Massachusetts town of Whitewood to research witchcraft, on the recommendation of her professor Alan Driscoll (Christopher Lee). She checks into the eerie Raven's Inn, where the proprietor Mrs. Newless is the reincarnation of Elizabeth Selwyn, a witch burned at the stake in 1692. Nan discovers that the town is a coven of witches who plan to sacrifice humans for immortality — but her discovery comes too late. When Nan disappears, her brother and fiancé race to Whitewood to uncover the truth. Produced by Milton Subotsky, who later co-founded Amicus Productions.
