Rogue of the Range

A Johnny Mack Brown western from Supreme Pictures. Government agent Dan Doran rides into a lawless territory to break up a gang that has been running off homesteaders and rustling stock, but is himself framed for a stagecoach robbery by the real outlaw chief, Lige Branscomb. Posing as an outlaw to infiltrate the gang, Doran has to clear his name from inside the hideout — with the help of Stella (Lois January), who knows more about the operation than she lets on. Directed by S. Roy Luby, a veteran cutter who became one of Poverty Row's most reliable western directors. The film's copyright was not renewed; it is in the public domain in the United States.
