Four soldiers stranded behind enemy lines in an unnamed war make their way toward a river and escape, killing an enemy officer and a peasant girl along the way. Stanley Kubrick's first feature, made on a tiny budget with a crew of friends; he later disowned it and tried to suppress it. The film entered the public domain through non-renewal.
