American television producer and writer best known for producing the 1954 Sherlock Holmes television series. He filmed the series in France with a largely British cast, taking advantage of lower production costs and European locations. Reynolds wrote many of the episodes himself, creating original mysteries rather than directly adapting the Arthur Conan Doyle stories, which gave the series its own identity.
