American actor best known for playing Jerry North in the television series Mr. and Mrs. North (1952-1954). Born in 1914, he appeared in numerous films in the 1940s and 1950s, including Creature from the Black Lagoon. His role as the mystery-magazine-publisher-turned-amateur detective Jerry North showcased his talent for light comedy. He later starred in the Hawaii-based detective series Hawaii Five-OS precursor, but is most remembered for his work opposite Barbara Britton.
