American actress best known for playing Pamela North in the television series Mr. and Mrs. North (1952-1954). Born in 1919, she began her career in films in the early 1940s, appearing in Paramount pictures including The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Her role as the witty and resourceful Pamela North made her one of television's first female detectives. After the series ended, she became a familiar face in television commercials and game shows.
