A family on vacation in the Texas desert takes a wrong turn and ends up at a remote lodge run by a strange caretaker and his cult-master leader, who worships the god Manos. Made by an El Paso fertilizer salesman on a bet, the film circulated for decades as a public-domain curio before Mystery Science Theater 3000 made it one of the most famous bad movies ever made.
