Five Minutes to Live
Country music legend Johnny Cash made his theatrical film debut in this low- budget neo-noir crime thriller directed by Bill Karn. Cash plays Johnny Cabot, a deranged bank robber who holds a housewife (Cay Forrester) hostage while his accomplice attempts to extort her bank manager husband (Donald Woods). Cash performs the title song, with a guitar solo by Merle Travis, who also appears in the film. A young Ron Howard co-stars as the couple's son. The film was rereleased in 1966 by American International Pictures as Door-to-Door Maniac. It is in the public domain.
