ComedyRomance
Fast and Loose
A 1930 American pre-Code romantic comedy directed by Fred C. Newmeyer, starring Miriam Hopkins, Carole Lombard, and Frank Morgan. The wealthy Lenox family of Long Island is headed by Bronson (Morgan), who respects tradition — but his children are more irreverent. When son Bertie gets involved with chorus girl Alice O'Neil (Lombard) and daughter Marion (Hopkins) falls for auto mechanic Henry Morgan, the family tries to intervene to prevent their children from marrying beneath themselves. The film was written by Preston Sturges, based on the 1924 play The Best People by David Gray and Avery Hopwood. This was Miriam Hopkins' feature film debut.
