Clancy in Wall Street

A 1930 American pre-Code comedy film directed by Ted Wilde and starring Charles Murray as Michael Clancy, a plumber who accidentally purchases stocks that quickly rise in value, leading him to crash high society. Aggie Herring plays Mrs. Clancy and Lucien Littlefield plays Andy MacIntosh. The film was also known as Clancy Caught Short and was described as the first comedy about the stock market crash. It was the last film for director Ted Wilde, who died in December 1929 after suffering a paralytic stroke during filming. Edward F. Cline was hired to direct the unfinished scenes.
