American film executive and producer, born in 1879. Founder of Fox Film Corporation in 1915, which would later become 20th Century Fox after a merger in 1935. Fox was one of the pioneers of the American film industry, building a studio empire that encompassed production, distribution, and exhibition. He produced Regeneration (1915), one of the first feature films released by his company.
