American character actor, born in 1884. A small, wiry comic player, he was a favorite sidekick in silent comedy, appearing with Buster Keaton in Battling Butler (1926) and Douglas Fairbanks in The Thief of Bagdad (1924). His rubbery face and nervous energy made him a natural for vaudeville-style comic relief. He died in 1937.
