Sidney Franklin

American film director and producer, born in 1893. A prominent MGM director who worked with many of Hollywood's biggest stars. He directed Tiger Rose (1923) for Warner Bros. early in his career, and later directed The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1934) and Mrs. Miniver (1942, producer). He died in 1972.
