Ricardo Cortez

American actor, born Jacob Krantz in 1900 in Vienna. He became a leading man in Hollywood silent films, often cast as a smooth Latin lover type. His notable roles include The Pony Express (1925) and The Torrent (1926) opposite Greta Garbo. He continued successfully into the sound era, often playing cads and villains, and later turned to directing and stock brokering.
