Ralph Staub

American film director and screenwriter, born in 1899. A prolific director of B-pictures and short subjects, he directed The Mandarin Mystery (1936), an Ellery Queen adaptation for Republic Pictures. He worked primarily in the short-film field and received an Academy Award nomination for his short subjects. He died in 1969.
