American television producer, writer, and creator (1911-2005) who created The Beverly Hillbillies (1962), Petticoat Junction (1963), and Green Acres (1965). Henning wrote many of the episodes himself and produced all three series through his company, Paul Henning Productions, in association with Filmways. His rural comedies dominated CBS's lineup in the 1960s and were among the most popular shows on television.
