Nina Paley

American cartoonist, animator, and free culture activist, born in 1970. Created Sita Sings the Blues (2008), an animated feature based on the Ramayana, which she released under a CC-0 public domain license after a prolonged copyright battle over the Annette Hanshaw recordings used in the film. She is a prominent advocate for copyright reform.
