Michael Landon

American actor, writer, and director, born 1936. Best known for playing Little Joe Cartwright on Bonanza (1959-1973), Charles Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie (1974-1983), and Jonathan Smith on Highway to Heaven (1984-1989). He also wrote and directed numerous episodes of the series he starred in. He died in 1991.
