Mary MacLaren

American film actress (1896-1985) who starred in numerous silent films, particularly for Universal Pictures under director Lois Weber. She is best known for her lead role in Shoes (1916), a social-problem drama about a young woman forced to support her family. She continued acting through the early sound era.
