American actress and dancer, born in 1901. A Ziegfeld Follies girl who moved into films, she played Polly Potter in The Cocoanuts (1929), the Marx Brothers' first feature. Her film career was concentrated in the early sound years and faded quickly as the musical vogue of 1929 to 1930 cooled.
