Mary Alden

American silent film actress, born in 1883. She appeared in many of D.W. Griffith's productions, including *The Birth of a Nation* (1915) and *Intolerance* (1916). She starred in *Ghosts* (1915), the screen adaptation of Ibsen's play, as Helen Arling. She died in 1946.
