Mae Clarke

American film actress, born in 1910. A leading lady of the early sound era best known for receiving the grapefruit in the face from James Cagney in The Public Enemy (1931). She reunited with Cagney in Great Guy (1936) and appeared in Frankenstein (1931) and Waterloo Bridge (1931). Her career declined in the 1940s. She died in 1992.
