Madge Evans

American film actress (1909-1981) who began as a child actress in silent films and became a leading lady in the early sound era. She starred in The Greeks Had a Word for Them (1932), Dinner at Eight (1933), and David Copperfield (1935). She retired from acting in 1939 after marrying writer Sidney Kingsley.
