Leo Gorcey

American actor born in 1917 who led the East Side Kids and Bowery Boys comedy series for two decades. Gorcey played the gang leader Muggs, known for his rapid-fire, malapropism-laced dialogue. He appeared in Spooks Run Wild (1941) and Ghosts on the Loose (1943), both with Bela Lugosi. He starred in dozens of films in the series before leaving the act in the mid-1950s.
