Swedish actor, born in 1886. A leading stage actor at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, he appeared in the Swedish silent classics The Saga of Gosta Berling (1924) opposite Greta Garbo and He Who Gets Slapped (1924) for MGM. He starred in The Scarlet Letter (1926) and Flesh and the Devil (1926) for director Victor Seastrom and Clarence Brown. With the coming of sound he returned to Sweden and the stage. He died in 1965.
