American film and television actress (1925-) best known for her roles in Lassie (1958-1964) and Lost in Space (1965-1968). She began her career as a child actress, appearing in It's a Joke, Son! (1947) and other films of the 1940s. She won a Tony Award in 1948 for her Broadway performance in For Love or Money.
