John Savage

American actor, born in 1949. He broke through in *The Deer Hunter* (1978) as Steven, one of the three Pennsylvania steelworkers sent to Vietnam. His other notable films include *The Onion Field* (1979), *Hair* (1979), and *Salvador* (1986). He has worked continuously in film and television across five decades.
