James Gleason

American actor, writer, and producer, born in 1882. A familiar character actor of the studio era, often playing gruff but warm-hearted older men. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941). He appears in Suddenly (1954) as the town's retired lawman.
