J. Gordon Edwards

American film director of the silent era, born in 1867. One of Fox's top directors of the 1910s and 1920s, he specialized in lavish spectacles and adventure features, directing The Silent Command (1923), Bela Lugosi's American film debut. He was the grandfather of director Blake Edwards. He died in 1925.
