American actress (1902-1973) best known for her role as Granny (Daisy Moses) on The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971). She began her career in vaudeville and radio before finding her greatest fame in her sixties as the feisty, shotgun-toting matriarch of the Clampett family. She was nominated for two Emmy Awards for the role. She died in 1973 at age 70 from a brain tumor.
