Ian Keith

American actor, born in 1899. A character actor known for his commanding presence and distinctive voice, he appeared in both silent and sound films. His roles include Steve in Manhandled (1924) and memorable supporting parts in Cecil B. DeMille epics such as The Sign of the Cross (1932) and Cleopatra (1934). He had a prolific Broadway and Hollywood career through the 1950s.
