Herbert Brenon

American film director, born in 1880. A prolific director of the silent era, he made Peter Pan (1924), Beau Geste (1926), and Laugh, Clown, Laugh (1928). He was a major director at Paramount and Fox through the 1920s, but his career did not survive the move into sound and he made only a few talkies before retiring.
