Harry O. Hoyt

American film director and screenwriter, born in 1885. He worked across a range of genres in the silent era and is best remembered for directing The Lost World (1925), the landmark adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel featuring Willis O'Brien's pioneering stop-motion dinosaurs. He continued directing into the early sound era before leaving the industry.
