German-born American actor, born Kurt Schneider in 1902. A dwarf performer, he was discovered by director Tod Browning and appeared in several of his films. He plays Tweedledee, the diminutive criminal ringleader, in both the silent (1925) and sound (1930) versions of The Unholy Three, and is most famous as Hans in Browning's Freaks (1932). He performed with his sister Daisy, also an actress, and toured with circuses. He died in 1985.
