Harpo Marx

American comedian and film star, born in 1888. The silent Marx Brother, he never spoke on screen, communicating in honks, whistles, and outrageous mime. He played the harp with genuine skill and carried a bottomless coat full of stolen silverware. He made his film debut with his brothers in The Cocoanuts (1929) and remained with the act through their MGM comedies.
