Gustav Fröhlich

German actor and director. Born in 1902, he is best known for playing Freder Fredersen, the son who descends into the workers' city, in Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927). He appeared in many German films of the silent and sound eras and also directed several films. He died in 1987.
