American film actor and comedian, best known as "Sunshine Sammy." Born in 1912, he was a former child star of the Our Gang comedy series and a popular vaudeville entertainer. He joined the East Side Kids series in 1940, appearing in Boys of the City and several subsequent films as the character Scruno.
