Edward Sloman

American silent film director and actor, born in 1886. He directed numerous silent features for Universal and other studios, including *His People* (1925), a celebrated drama of Jewish immigrant life on the Lower East Side. He also acted in films during the 1910s before turning to directing. His career ended with the coming of sound. He died in 1972.
