Don Knotts

American actor and comedian, born 1924. Best known for playing Deputy Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968), a role that earned him five Emmy Awards. His nervous, bumbling comic persona also starred in films including The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) and The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966). He died in 2006.
