Daniel L. Haynes

American actor and singer, born in 1894. A vaudeville and church-music performer, he was cast by King Vidor as Zeke, the sharecropper lead of Hallelujah (1929), one of the first studio features with an all-Black cast. He made a few more film appearances in the early sound era before returning to music and the stage.
