Chico Marx

American comedian and film star, born in 1887. The eldest of the performing Marx Brothers, he played the Italian-accented con man, a pianist whose "shooting the keys" routine was as much a part of the act as the jokes. He was the brother who handled the act's money, for better and for worse. He made his film debut in The Cocoanuts (1929) and stayed with the brothers through their MGM run.
