Charles Bryant

Australian-born American actor and director, born 1879 in Adelaide. He began as a stage actor and moved into pictures as a leading man opposite his partner Alla Nazimova, whom he married in 1919. He directed Salomé (1923) from the Nazimova Productions unit. His directing career was brief, and he returned to acting and writing in the sound era. He died in 1948.
