Best known for his roles in tough-guy films including Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), The Great Escape (1963), and the Death Wish series (1974-1994). On television, he starred as Mike Kovac in Man with a Camera (1958-1960) before becoming one of Hollywood's most iconic action stars. He died in 2003.
